Welcome To The SQMF Log
SQMF was an initiative developed by EXIN, the international examination body. It was positioned to be supplemental to the ITIL Foundation Certificate, but importantly, had a wider scope and was aligned with ISO 20000. This service quality management certification program was launched in June 2006.
A number of courses emerged to support this, with specialist training provider Fox IT being the first to offer a detailed one covering the full syllabus. The exam comprised 40 multiple choice questions, and the scheme was openly supported by the itSMF.
ISO 20000 Foundation
In 2007 and 2008 EXIN had a re-think. They re-developed and re-branded their ISO 20k approach, and produced 'IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000', known widely is ISO 2000 Foundation.
This exam was also offered via Prometric, which made it far more accessible. The certification was also integrated into a hierarchical ISO 20000 educational path, which includes management and auditing tracks.
